Version 3.0 Will Release Next Month

We know it's been a long while since we posted anything, but we've just been a little busy. However, we do have news for you, and Productivity 3.0 will release next month. Our target date for version 3.0 is June 7, but that's tentative and may change by a few days.

In the meantime, we have been working on the app and have some great stuff lined up for you in your next update! We'll show you around.

UI Changes

The first major change you'll notice is that we've revamped the UI of the main app and some of its features. The main window looks like this now:

The new interface is more organized and grouped, making it easier to find all the features. It also has a more clean look to it. Of course, the main window isn't the only one with the change. For example, Journal looks like this:

The new Ribbon has a backstage view like the Office 2013 products.

Scheduler

This is the most exciting feature we have in this release. The new Scheduler feature is the calendar app Productivity longed to have. You can set appointments, have reminders for them, save them in iCalendar files (which are recognized by Microsoft Outlook and most calendar apps) and even print them! There are a wide range of options for printing giving you lots of flexibility. Here's the basic view of the feature.

We will be adding more features to Scheduler in upcoming versions.

Journal: Spellcheck

We've added a spell-check feature to Journal, just in case you miss out on typos and regret it later. It works the same as in most other applications, so you won't have a problem using it.

Nap Alarm: Math

We've added a math feature to Nap Alarm, and you can configure it so that you have to solve math problems to dismiss the alarm. Why would you want to solve math just after a nap? That's just for those people who click on Dismiss and go back to sleep instead of waking up. You can choose from a variety of difficulties and number of problems, but they will all be addition and subtraction problems.

That's the roundup of the new features we've worked on until now. We hope you like the new features, and we're always open to feedback and suggestions.

Another Beta Release

Productivity version 0.1 Beta is already up for download on Softpedia, and contrary to what was planned earlier, there will be another beta release before the final version comes out. Please do note that the beta version has some incomplete features, but whatever is done should work properly. If you encounter any errors, please submit a bug report by commenting. The first thing you’ll notice in the next beta is the new UI. It’s a cleaner and more easy to use UI than before, and we’ve also included a Help section to help you get started (not that you’ll need it). Here’s the new UI:   The major reason for releasing another beta is that we wanted some more feedback about the app so we can make it the way you want. The most significant development has been done to the ToDo List feature, whose UI has also changed a bit. Unfortunately we can’t confirm a release date yet, but we’ll surely let you know soon:)

Version 0.3 Releasing This Week!

We're nearly done with the development of version 0.3, which is mainly a bunch of improvements for each of the existing features.  Notes now has a new interface and you can save all your notes in a file, apart from viewing all your notes in a single window rather than multiple different ones. CompLock steals the spotlight in this version, with a major update. CompLock now includes "work cycles". A work cycle is basically composed of a work period where the computer is CompLocked, and a break period. You can specify the durations of the work and the break periods, and also the number of cycles. There are also preset options, which have been used by experts themselves. The Flash Cards now gives more statistics about your learning progress after each session. We're also adding a new feature to help you with your morning exercise. The exercise given has been scientifically proven to be the most effective, and it lasts just 8 minutes :)  Productivity 0.3 will al...

Version 0.2 Released!

After quite some testing and work, version 0.2 of Productivity has finally been released! Apart from the stuff we said we'd change in the previous post, we've also added a Relax feature as a kind of bonus. Go on, check it out! The new version is available for download on Softpedia so make sure you try it out :) We've also given a portable version of the app in case you want to carry it on a USB drive, for instance. Now, those of you who were reading between the lines might wonder what happened to version 0.1. Well, we leave that to you to speculate on ;)
